Fall 2017, the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China ends. The international press tries to decipher the conclusions, the French press tries to follow. These last articles seem too smooth to us, too empty.
Or, for us who had translated many official documents, company reports and other propaganda articles, we were convinced that we could do better. Thereby, on a corner of the table, the idea of a new French-speaking platform dedicated to contemporary China has emerged.
It will take us a year and a return to Paris to found EastIsRed, the first French-speaking investigation service dedicated to China. Today with three years of experience, a network of contributors in the field, we are proud of our independence.
