The provinces put to work to avoid the real estate crisis

We have just learned that Suzhou municipal government plans to buy environ 10 000 sets of new houses, intended to provide commercial accommodation. A number of these homes are acquired from property developer WanKe [Vanke Oriental], one of the biggest players in the country, who is experiencing difficulties from 2019. Recently, more and more local governments took the initiative to “redeem” local commercial accommodation, in order to transform them into private accommodation, at comfortable prices, and rented.
